Viral BurstViralBurst team
Hi everyone, and welcome to the new ViralBurst community!
There's a lot new this time, both on the website and in the app.
NEW ON THE WEBSITE
- This forum. Ask for help, suggest features, or show off your clips. I read everything here, and this Announcements section is where I'll post news and updates.
- A full support guide with screenshots: installing, your first clips, and what every option on every tab does.
https://viralburst.app/support.html
- A refreshed homepage with the new feature list.
NEW IN THE APP (version 1.30.2)
AI Highlights got a big upgrade:
- It now watches the video, not just the transcript, so it catches moments where nobody is talking: a big play, a fail, a crowd going wild.
- It also judges the loudest moments of the video, replacing the old volume-only highlights.
- It runs right after transcription and cuts its picks as captioned 9:16 clips first.
- A new "Viral" mode and a re-rank pass score the best picks on hook, payoff and shareability.
- Clips start and end on whole sentences, never mid-word.
- Everything still runs on your own computer. Nothing is uploaded.
Getting started with the AI is easier too. If you don't have an AI model yet, ViralBurst suggests the one that best fits your graphics card and downloads it with one click.
Also new:
- Manual editor tab: play any video and cut your own clips with Start clip / Stop clip.
- Curse-word censor: bleep or mute swear words, with an editable word list made for streaming platforms. Subtitles can be masked too.
- Ad reads: drop sponsor spots into the jump cut edit at the start, the end, or any time you choose.
- Pop-up tips: rest your pointer on any button or option to see what it does. You can turn them off in Settings > Options.
- Reorganized Settings: Outputs are at the top of Options, the AI has its own "Local LLM" tab, and the Settings window now stays in front.
Fixes:
- YouTube downloads that failed with a "certificate verify failed" error, usually caused by antivirus HTTPS scanning, now work.
- Transcription crash with a newer audio library fixed.
- AI model downloads now resume if your connection drops.
- No more empty terminal window popping up during AI Highlights on Windows.
HOW TO UPDATE
Updates are free. Open the link in your original ViralBurst purchase email, download the new installer for Windows or Linux, and run it. Your license, settings and downloaded AI models carry over.
ViralBurst's own "Check for Updates" button (Settings > Options) also tells you when a new version is out.
The AI features are still experimental, so results can vary from video to video. If something looks off or you have an idea, post it in Help or Suggestions. I'd love to hear how it works for you.
Thanks for using ViralBurst!
